Email sent through WA.cr
Last updated:
This page is for anyone who received an email sent through WA.cr, for example from an address ending in @wacr.im. It explains who sent it, why you got it, and how to stop it.
Who sent this email
WA.cr is a communications platform that businesses use to talk to their customers. wacr.im is WA.cr's shared sending domain: a business that has not set up its own email domain sends from an address on it, such as yourshop@wacr.im. Other businesses send through WA.cr from their own domain.
Either way, the sender is the business named in the From line, not WA.cr. If you reply, your reply goes to that business.
Why you got it
You are a customer of that business, or you signed up to hear from it. Businesses on WA.cr may only email people who agreed to it, and before its first email broadcast every business must confirm that its contacts agreed to receive marketing email. We keep a record of that confirmation.
WA.cr never sells, rents or shares your email address with other businesses, and we do not supply mailing lists.
How to unsubscribe
- Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email, then press Unsubscribe on the page that opens. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing to fill in.
- Or use the Unsubscribe button your mail app shows beside the sender's name. It works in one click.
Either way, it takes effect immediately for that business, even if a broadcast is still being sent. Every email broadcast sent through WA.cr carries the link, and businesses cannot remove it.
Report spam or abuse
- Mark it as spam in your mail app. When the email was a broadcast sent through WA.cr, we receive the complaint and that business stops emailing you at once. If it came from an address on wacr.im, no business sending from wacr.im will email you again.
- Forward it to abuse@wacr.im, with its full headers if you can, and tell us what happened. We look into every report.
The rules every sender agrees to
Every business that sends email through WA.cr agrees to the email rules in our Acceptable Use Policy. In short, it must:
- email only its own customers and people who agreed to hear from it;
- never use bought, rented or scraped lists;
- put its business name and postal address in every email;
- honour every unsubscribe straight away.
We can pause or stop email sending for a business that breaks these rules.
For mailbox providers
Email broadcasts sent through WA.cr are delivered by Amazon SES from the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region. Each business sends as its own SES tenant, with its own suppression list. Every broadcast carries List-Unsubscribe and one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058). An address that hard-bounces is never sent another broadcast by any business on WA.cr.

Your privacy
We handle a business's contact details on its behalf, only to deliver its messages. Our Privacy Policy explains how we protect personal data and how to reach our Grievance Officer.
